Specifications and models of forklift batteries

Leave a message

‌ Specifications and models of forklift batteries‌ mainly include two types: lead-acid batteries and lithium batteries, each of which has different models and specifications.

Lead-acid batteries
Lead-acid batteries are the most common choice on the market due to their mature technology, stable performance and low cost. Common lead-acid battery models include:

‌ 6-QW-90(600)12V90Ah‌: This battery is suitable for Hangcha starting, has high capacity and voltage, and is suitable for forklifts that need to run for a long time‌.
‌ 6-QW-60MF‌: It is also a Hangcha starting battery, suitable for forklifts that require medium-capacity batteries‌.
The working principle of lead-acid batteries is to convert chemical energy into electrical energy through chemical reactions. During the discharge process, sulfuric acid reacts with lead to form lead sulfate; during the charging process, lead sulfate decomposes back into lead and sulfuric acid. The reversibility of this chemical reaction allows lead-acid batteries to be recycled‌.

Lithium batteries
In recent years, lithium batteries have gradually become the mainstream choice for forklift batteries, especially high-voltage lithium-ion counterbalanced forklifts. For example, the motor/electronic control protection level of Linde's high-voltage lithium-ion counterbalanced forklift is as high as IP67. The lithium battery is equipped with a heating system + original fire extinguishing device as standard, which is not afraid of severe cold and high temperature, meets the environmental vehicle requirements of -20℃ to 55℃, and is suitable for all-weather operations.

Selection basis
When choosing a forklift battery, you need to consider the following main factors:

‌Capacity (Ah): The larger the capacity, the longer the battery life. A comprehensive evaluation is required based on the forklift's working intensity, operating time, and use environment.
‌Voltage (V): The voltage needs to match the forklift's electrical system. For example, a 48V battery is suitable for large-tonnage or high-performance forklifts, while a 24V battery is suitable for light forklifts.
‌Service life: The cycle life of a lead-acid battery is usually around 500-1000 times, and the specific life is also related to factors such as charging method, discharge depth, and ambient temperature.
Working environment: High or low temperature environments will affect battery performance, so you need to choose a battery that can adapt to specific environmental conditions.
